We know all about sweets here at Appleton Sweets and have been selling sweets in the UK since 1945.

What’s more, there is something special about British sweets! Here is a list of sweets that can only be bought in the UK. Make sure you stock them in your confectionary store, unless you want your customers to miss out!

All of them you’ll find in our selection of sweets at Appleton Sweets.

Please note: All of these sweets originate from Britain and are mainly sold in Britain. However, some can be bought in a few locations overseas.

Jelly Babies

Jelly Babies were first manufactured in Lancashire in the 19th century and are soft, chewy jelly sweet that come in a variety of colours and flavours.

We stock a number of different choices of wholesale Jelly Babies here at Appleton Sweets. They work well when sold as part of a Pick ‘n’ Mix stand or as separately bagged sweets.

They were, during the war time, produced by Bassetts and called “Peace Babies”.

Jelly Babies are still very much an iconic British sweet and are only available in the UK.

Liquorice Allsorts

Liquorice Allsorts are produced by Bassetts and originate from Sheffield. They’re tasty sweets that consist of sugar, coconut, aniseed jelly, gelatine and fruit flavourings. Yum!

Wine Gums

Wine Gums are popular in the UK and other European countries. However, they’re still very much a British sweet.

They contain no alcohol and come in various shapes. They’re liked by most people so always make a great gift or choice for a Pick ‘n’ Mix stand.

Maltesers  

Available in various sizes, from fun size to larger sizes, Maltesers are a popular chocolate treat with a delicious, light honeycomb centre.

First sold in 1937, Maltesers are a classic sweet that are sold from our warehouse at Appleton Sweets.

It must be noted though that since January 2017 Maltesers have been available in the USA. However, in our eyes, they’re still a classic British treat!

Pear Drops

Pear drops are primarily British and usually their pear taste comes from an artificial flavouring, sometimes it comes from real pear juice though!

Cadbury Flake

  The classic addition to a 99 ice cream the Cadbury Flake is a British seaside classic and is our favourite crumbly chocolate bar!

Introduced in 1920, Cadbury Flakes have been around for 98 years! Indulge your customers with wholesale Cadbury Flakes from Appleton Sweets!


Cadbury Chocolate Buttons

Cadbury Chocolate Buttons are a childhood favourite and have been around in the UK since 1960. They’re available in both mil and white chocolate.

Black Jacks and Fruit Salads

Which do you prefer?

A “Black Jack” is a British favourite and is an aniseed flavour chew. A “ Fruit Salad” is a pineapple and raspberry flavour chew.

They’re a fun and firm favourite with both adults and children!

Aero

 

Bubbly Aero chocolate bars are available in chocolate and mint flavours. The aerated chocolate has been available in Britain since 1935 and is now available across the globe. It has been produced by Nestle since 1988.

Cadbury Double Decker

Manufactured in the UK by Cadbury and available since 1976, the Double Decker is indeed named after a double-decker bus and is a combination of milk chocolate, nougat and cereal krispies.
