As experts in the sweet industry (we sell a HUGE variety of wholesale sweets after all!), we know the most popular sweets for every occasion.
Of course, our ultimate aim is to stock confectionary stores with the best value, best quality wholesale sweets that will provide customer satisfaction and value for money, however, we also know our stuff when it comes to what tastes great in the candy world.
So, as sweet industry experts and keen candy connoisseurs, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite sweetie-themed desserts that are bound to be adored by the sweet-toothed amongst us!
We’ve searched high and low to find the absolute top sweet-themed desserts that will fill many with delight!
1. Smarties Slice
The first on our list of fabulous desserts is none other than the Smarties Slice. An absolute delight of a recipe that will please both adults and children alike, the Smarties Slice is ideal for children’s birthdays and could also be used as an alternative to Christmas pudding this Christmas.
Our recommended recipe for the Smarties Slice from Good Food features pine nuts which we think makes the slice more festive and undoubtedly delicious! Of course, if you or a family member suffers from a nut allergy, simply leave the pine nuts out of the cake mixture.
And, if you are feeling really adventurous, add some of our colourful chocolate flavoured beans (as well as the smarties!) for a real sweet treat!
2. Jelly Bean Fudge
Desserts don’t get much sweeter than this. The Jelly Bean Fudge recipe from Genius Kitchen features white chocolate chips, vanilla frosting and, you guessed it, jelly beans! Try it if you’re sweet enough!
3. Starburst Chewy Rice Krispies Treats
A powerhouse of colour and fruity flavours, the Starburst Chewy Rice Krispies Treats are such fun to make and are a lovely treat for the kids.
They do involve rolling out the Starburst though, so you may want to make these away from mini helping hands. We’re sure the mini mouths will help you eat them though!
Essentially, these are Rice Krispie Treats that feature a layer of Starburst sweets on the top- delicious! 4. Malteser Tiffin
Maltesers are everybody’s favourite, whether you are 4 or 40!
They’re fun, they can be festive and they’re, most of all, fabulous!
The Malteser Tiffin is utterly delicious and features chocolate, digestive biscuits, chocolate, maltesers, golden syrup, chocolate, unsalted butter…and, that’s right, chocolate!
5. Twix Caramel Cookie Bars
For some, this recipe is far better than a standard Millionaire Shortbread, so if you haven’t tried the Twix Caramel Cookie Bars and you love nothing better than a caramel bar taste, this recipe may just be for you!
WARNING: Do not eat all the Twix bars before putting them in this recipe! They’re a key ingredient and, trust us, it’s worth trying the Twix Caramel Cookie Bars.
6. Pear Drop Bellinis
Perhaps a dessert for adults that would prefer an alcoholic beverage over a dessert or, perhaps to get straight to it and indulge before the main course! The Pear Drop Bellinis are essentially Cava with a Pear Drop dropped in. Fan-fizzy-tastic!
7. Jelly Baby Jelly Cake
The Jelly Baby Jelly Cake is a very unique dessert that combines jelly babies, ice cream and good old-fashioned jelly. Perhaps another alternative for Christmas pudding for the youngsters?
They’ll absolutely love the Jelly Baby Jelly Cake.
What’s more, pick the flavour they’ll like best!
We think Vanilla ice-cream works best in this recipe along with strawberry jelly.
8. Ultimate Chocolate Cake Recipe
If you are a fan of full-on chocolate cake, then this recipe from BBC Good Food is bound to get you baking!
Featuring coffee granules, it may not be one for the kids, however, its fudgy taste makes it sweet enough for true sweeties out there!
You could use our Free’ist Dark Chocolate bars instead of standard dark chocolate and find a substitute for the sugar if you want to omit the sugar from the recipe.
9. Pick ‘n’ Mix Chocolate and Sweet Cake
The best thing about this recipe is the fact that you can choose a variety of different Pick ‘n’ Mix sweets!
Essentially, as many as you like!
A straight-forward chocolate cake recipe, decorated with your favourite Pick ‘n’ Mix selection, this cake is bound to go down a treat!
10. Gravity-Defying Sweetie Cake
For the more experienced baker only! Or perhaps, simply, the bravest!
The gravity-defying sweetie cake is an attention-grabbing sweetie cake that features smarties and chocolate fingers as the main sweet theme.
Here at Appleton Sweets, we think you could swap the chocolate fingers with white chocolate KitKats or chocolate bananas if you wanted to make the cake more, well bananas!
11. Starmix Fairy Cakes
Make your own Starmix fairy cakes at home by making your own delicious fairy cakes and topping them with icing and Haribo Starmix. Always a star treat! Happy Baking!
Enjoy making these delicious recipes (just make sure you spread them out over a number of months!!) Perhaps make one each month of 2018! And make your favourite of them all again in December 2018!
